I've been enjoyiing looking at the beautiful things posted on this site for a couple of weeks and finally felt the urge to post when I saw the greyhounds. Notice I said greyhounds and not greyhound sweaters :). Greyhound owners will understand. Well anyway, I got the urge to share. I knitted my nephew a blue sweater, had some left over yarn so bought a few more skeins and made my greyhound, Alf, a sweater with matching snood, then made myself a hat from the same yarn and then made a Pokemon toy with it. I plan to use the remainder on a scrappy afghan. I'll post a better picture of my nephew's sweater soon. My favorite aunt taught me how to knit and crochet and what she didn't teach, I learned on my own mostly from books. More than 40 years later I'm still learning and loving it.

Great looking sweater and child wonderful greyhound. I have a white standred poodle.Would love the pattern-where did you find it?
I really love the matching sweaters - they look terrific!

My young Amstaff feels the winter cold and I've been thinking of knitting him a sweater - he already has a very stylish fleece lined pleather rainjacket that I sewed for him last year which he adores and wears very proudly outside.

Your blue doggy sweater has inspired me to get organised and knit him an 'inside' sweater before the southern hemisphere winter arrives.
Such a lucky dog -- and nephew!! I love that blue and the pattern is gorgeous.
Wow! My Airedale would be sooooo jealous if she could see this screen right now. All she has is a red fleece jacket with black paw prints that I sewed for her! Don't tell her about yours!! Thanks for sharing. jb
All of your sweaters are great. Love your greyhounds : )
You do beautiful work. You nephew looks very happy with his new sweater.
I don't think my rottweiler of mastiff would tolerate sweaters, luckily they don't really need them. More hair than I care to have to vacuum up, but alas... I HAVE TO. They are lucky they are cute. Maybe if my husband keeps walking them early in the mornings when its cold out gain I will....
I just joined and read your message. I have two greyhounds also and my next project was going to be a sweater for them, so it was interesting to see your photos of your dogs sweaters. You did a beautiful job.

Wow!!! what beautiful work and a gorgeous color blue.
love the sweaters on both, blue is my color.
Thanks for all the kind posts. My nephew's sweater is a free knitting pattern from Berroco. The pattern is called Andoa. The website is http://www.berroco.com. The greyhound sweater is a crochet pattern I purchased pattern from Etsy, Aerie Designs. I had to make some modifications to it because Alf is so-o-o-o long even for a greyhound. So I made it longer and added a border that wraps from shoulder to shoulder.
OMG! that's so cute!
I knit for my doberman, Winnie. I believe that the doberman and greyhound have similar body shapes.
Where did you find the pattern for these tall and long breeds?
By the way they are gorgeous.
