Hi,
My name is Chris. I live in Central Texas, Just outside of Austin, state capital. I a small town called Lago Vista. I just taught myself to knit in August. I wanted something to keep me busy after my foot surgery. I absolutely love it! I have only made 3 blankets and some baby stuff, (bonnet, booties, hat) and working on a very simple but cute baby blanket. I am a little nervous to try anything more. Would like to make myself a cardigan or something but it looks so intimadating to me.

Anyone else here from Texas. We also own a home in Florida outside of Orlando, in Oviedo. And my Parents live in Port Orange, Fl. (South Daytona Beach area) My Mom is thrilled that I now knit.. I also started loom knitting and enjoy it too.
Looking forward to meeting everyone and learning more.

Just another Texan, by way of Chicago and Michigan. I am in Richardson, outside of Dallas. My daughter went to Trinity in San Antonio and I have friends on the Austin area. I have been knitting for 50 some years but also weave, spin, quilt, crossstitch - anything to do with fiber. Don't be afraid to try a garment. Mabe a vest - if you've done booties and have learned to increase and decrease - you'll be OK. It's a great hobby and can be as challenging as you want or as easy and calming. My husband can always tell how exiting the hockey game is by how fast my needles are going!

Hi, I moved to Kingsland in August which I don't think is too far from you. Do you have a knitting store near you? I also love to knit and have been knitting baby things for my nieces' baby due March 1. Cheryl

Hi! Chris,
My name is Sally and live in CT.
I'm 59 years young
I was introduced to crocheting by my Mom at a very young.
I have many passions in life, my top two are crocheting and many types of music.
I'm a people person and looking to make friends, get good advise and share ideas. So let's keep hooking I mean crocheting
I'm also interested in learning to knit one day soon.
When I picked up a project I used to be in such a hurry to finish. I learned quickly to slow down and take my time which helped me to learn more and make less mistakes. Never be afraid of taking on a new project one step at a time. Don't worry about making mistakes that's why it's always easier to ripe out stitches then to make them.

Looking forward to hearing from you at there.
Sincerely,
Sally

Good morning
Well, lets see. I am 62 years old, married to my high school sweetheart for 41 years, we have two grown children, one beautiful granddaughter, age 8. In fact, I had to chase her and her best friend off the computer, so I could check my emails.
I may have only one grandchild by birth but I am known as MawMaw to alot more kids. I teach CCD at our church and before I got hurt, I got to hold all of the babies. Now,
I can't because of my back.
I was taught to knit when I was 12 by my grandmother.
I use to love to garden.
I am knitting on a kingsize bedspread in the round thanks to Denise knitting needles..
Coffee is ready, email: [email protected]

I've lived in Texas all my life. I have lived in Palestine for almost 6 years now. I go to Tyler if I need to do some good yarn shopping since we only have Wal Mart here. I also like to shop for my yarn online because I can get an even bigger selection there. Maybe one day we can get together so you can show me exactly what I'm doing right or wrong with the knitting.
