Congratulations on your new granddaughter. Have you thought about starting a collection of Barbie fashions or American Girl (18-inch)doll clothes? I have been creating Barbie fashions for over 20 years. Won some blue ribbons in the "knitting" category, the "bridal" category, and the "collections" category - all with hand knit Barbie costumes. One entry in the collections category was 30 Mardi Gras costumes, another entry was "The Four Seasons" with 30 Barbie dolls modeling spring Easter outfits, summer prom gowns, autumn Halloween costumes, and winter ski/skating fashions. My great-granddaughter will one day receive a huge (3 gallon) metal popcorn can filled with knitted Barbie doll clothes. I am working on a website to show my Barbie dolls in their knitted fashions - I will let everyone know when I get the kinks worked out. Who knows - this may inspire a new interest in knitting for lots of knitters on this forum.
