I actually have corned beef and veggies I will be putting in the crockpot later today. I have an Irish friend who says that this is an Irish American tradition, not an Ireland based tradition. He has boiled ham for Saint Patrick’s not corned beef. He had to become a US citizen in order to work in his trade here in the USA which required security clearances which require citizenship

Never had corned beef until I moved to Texas. In NYS we always had ham and cabbage, not just 3/17, but anytime Mom felt like it and later when I thought of it. l still prefer ham to corned beef.
