I've already been posting (well, replying is more like it) for a few days, so I guess I ought to say hello! I am THE original neednap (since 1993) and boy does the name fit...I have fibromyalgia but no longer have to work, on disability for that and other assorted things, so am able to use what energy I have knitting, crocheting, gardening, painting, caring for the critters...gee, sounds like I do a lot, but actually only a little here and there, one thing at a time, as I spend too much time on the computer! That's about to change, though, as the heat lets up. Once it gets over 90 degrees I'm toast. Also lost my husband a month ago so will be doing more to help the healing. The numbness is wearing off and I'm able to grieve, and the knitting is calming and gives me time to reflect on the 25 years we had together.

I've been knitting since I was 7 (just turned 60), crocheting almost that long. I enjoy crocheted and beaded snowflakes on fine thread. I love knitting socks, my latest obsession. I've got a dog sweater and a pullover for me on the needles (oh, and a couple pairs of socks too). Looking forward to seeing what everyone else is up to. :-D

Welcome from Peterborough, UK. Sorry to hear about your husband - hope all the craft work you are doing will help to ease the pain of that. At least you have come to the right place for friendship, support, knowledge, laughter (and sometimes a few tears). I look forward to seeing your work.

Thank you. He will be very much missed. He was a sweetheart and a clown and took very good care of me.

I was off the internet for 4 years, half that time applying for, being denied, and appealing disability, the rest living on it (disability, not the internet!!!), and only just got back on it (the internet, not disability, sheesh) in June...so it will take some time to catch up. My camera is also in the pawn shop, so it may take another month or two to get that back out... Then maybe I can post some shots of WIPs and UFOs as well as the occasional finished project! ;-)

Sorry for your loss...totally understand...you will get over the grief...but never the loss (at least that is the way I feel). Lost my husband 5 years ago, and still greatly miss him. That said...I do a lot with knitting and cross stitch. Belonging to KP is a good thing, lots of friends, lots of ideas and they become like family...there to help at any time. Welcome
