Oh how things have changed for the better.!!!!
The models look familiar.
Lots of knitting in that gorgeous suit. It would cost a fortune in yarn to make it now don't you think.

Hi Barbara, You're right I bet it would cost a fortune now, but I suppose they didn't have so many clothes then. Mind you I have just splashed out on some baby alpaca wool to knit myself an aran jacket. I've just got to work out the pattern.

Boy, a woman really knew her place in 1962. Come to think of it I was 10 years old then(I know, oldie, but goodie) and that was not my mom. She had her own style, and just better hope that dad liked it too.

I just keep looking at that suit and wish we could get the pattern, especially that jacket.

If you would like, I have a stash of 50's and 60's patterns from my mother in law, that I have just been storing. None of the patterns call me. I might be able to hook you up with a similar one. I'm off to babysit two little grandgirls right now, but later today I could do that.

That ad was before the feminist revolution. My husband always wanted me to have long hair, but I cut it short to suit me. He liked ladies with polished nails so I started having them done every two weeks; it was hardly noticed. So, ladies, do your own thing and forget about pleasing your man!

:roll: I sure must be out of the box. First, by 1960 I was married and had my first child with the 2nd on the way. Since my dad passed away when I was 2 I grew up in a house of women and if something needed done we did it. Any, way, my husband says i'm the most independent woman he knows. Pleasing him means pleasing me first, cause if I'm happy everybody's happy :roll: :roll:
