I was given a cone of 8 ply double worsted cotton and would like to make oven mitts. I have a small hand (glove size 6) so most of the commercial mitts are too big for me. I would prefer a free pattern or perhaps a mitten pattern that can be modified.
Any other uses besides hot plates to use up the cotton? It also has a strong smoking odor. Any suggestions how to get rid of the smoke smell without washing the entire cone?
