My mother is legally blind but still loves to knit. Because of her extremely limited vision she has dificulty with circular needles and cast offs so she sticks to simple projects ie: wash cloths and scarves. Does anyone have any suggestions for some new projects. I can join pieces for her. She goes to the Blind Center once a week and they have an annual sale of the items they make. I think she has made 60 or more washcloths. :)

G'day and welcome from Sydney NSW Australia. I just googled Knitting patterns for thw blind and I came up with a whole lot of sites that may be of some assistance to you for your mother.

My mother has Macular degeneration in both eyes one ie the wet and one has the dry. She is still able to see and she has Lucentis injections into her eye every few weeks, if she didn't hace the injections she would be legally blind now. Mum still knits and crochets and she can read a bit but not as good as she could. Good luck.

What about mobile phone covers? My mum had macular degeneration and she used to make place mats and coasters in garter stitch and my sister sewed lace around them.

Welcome. What about placemats, small purses or clutch bags, eyeglass or cell phone cases, throw pillow covers-things that someone else could finish off for her, or seam for her.
