We've used paypal for buying & selling for quite a few years, and never had a problem. Seems to me individuals are more likely to get hacked than PayPal. For instance, I don't store personal financial information on my computer. I never email account numbers or passwords. I don't respond to phishing emails and come-ons. Also, I prefer not to use instant messaging. Email is instant enough for me.
