I talked to the company today and the business has been sold to Sprinrite Yarns which also has Sugar N Cream. The Peache's & Cream yarn uses a better cotton than Sugar N Cream and Peache's & Cream yarn is softer than the other one. You can still buy from Peache's & Cream until May 2011. I am very sorry that Peache's & Cream will not be manufactured here in the USA. I have been using Peache's & Cream for about 30 years and don't know if I will use Sugar N Cream because I don't think Sugar N Cream is equal to Peache's & Cream. [email protected]

I am gong to agree with you on this. ONe of the things I do for Charity knitting involves "spa quality" face cloths and hair towels.

there are "sources" for discontinued yarns...sumptuous yarn is a source..and I do know that Tuesday Morning has always been a favorite when it comes to discontinued yarns too.

Thank Wal-Mart for the demise of Peaches and Cream. They cancelled their contract. I think Peaches and cream has a different hand than Sugar'n Cream and much prefer it. It also has more colors, "weights" and packs than other cotton yarns. Their factory is located in a small North Carolina town and the people that will now be unemployed because of Wal-Mart greed is discouraging. From a consumer's point of view, there is no match for the number of colors and kinds of products that will be lost. Bummer and shame on Wal-Mart!

If the company was bought out maybe the new owner will keep making it in some form or fashion. I have used both the Sugar 'N Cream and the Peaches 'N Cream. I seem to find the colors I want in the Sugar more often. I get mine from Herrschners more often than not. Never able to find enough of the same dye lot all in one place. It is always bad when a compnay closes up, folks lose their jobs.

I agree with you EM. Walmart is so greedy and I use to work for them. The best thing I did was quitting.

That's why I haven't shopped in a Walmart for almost 10 years. They do business like that and put a lot of companies out of business. How unfortunate that we'll all miss out on a great product like Peaches & Cream because of them!

Hi tricket, just today I was looking and sugar n cream cone yarn at walmart--althought 100% cotton--it was more like string than yarn. I've heard about peaches n cream but don't remember seeing it anywhere--if interested where can I find it? Is it only available throough the manufacturer?

Interesting that Peaches and Cream put all their eggs in one basket. It's a very nice yarn that people love, seems like very poor management on their part and not very good sales rep. for the company. Wonder if they just got an offer they couldn't refuse from the other company. I certainly would blame another company for their poor business sense.

I use both brands. The one brand I will never buy again is Herschnerr's. It is so thin...almost like string and wouldn't you know I bought cones. I just can't use it up fast enough.
