My 7 year old grandson loves playing "Club Penguin" on the computer so I'm hoping he will like his Christmas hat. This was my first attempt at stranded knitting and I am happy with how it turned out. The pattern did not call for a pompon but I'm thinking it needs one. What do you all think?

Not sure boys like pom poms on hats. I'd leave it as it is. It looks great without one.

My 6-year old grandson would think a pom pom is "girly." Where do they get these ideas, anyway? So, I would play it safe and leave off the pom pom. Your hat is adorable.

I have also made this hat. It's not hard to follow. I like this one better than mine, since she made the turned-up cuff. If you need the link to the pattern, let me know and I'll look it up. I still have the print out of it.

Agree, no pompom. One of my sons told me even cables must be for girls!!!
