When I first posted this hat in September 2020, I had not made the decision to add a pompom. While visiting a lovely yarn shop in Colorado, I found "vegan" pompoms so I decided to purchase a couple of them and now, the dilemma....WITH OR WITHOUT. Give me your honest opinion as this is a Christmas gift for a dear niece. Thanks in advance and thanks to Mrs. Kowalski for this lovely design.

I almost agree. I would leave the hat plain, but send the pompom so that she can attach it if she prefers. Personally, I don't like pompoms. I like to make a matching or contrasting Dorset button for the top of a hat.
