Friends of mine had a baby girl early and the little angel only weighs 3 pounds at 3 weeks after birth. I couldn't find a sweater pattern small enough that I thought I could make, so I altered a pattern I had. I used the Lion Brand Baby's first Cardigan and just cut the number of stitches and lengths in half. It looks like it should fit, and if it doesn't she can always use it to dress her dolly when she's old enough to have one. I'm making a little blanket for her too, one that won't swallow her up when she's wrapped up in it.

The ribbon is half solid, half sheer with an iridescent strip in the middle. It's very subtle and feminine. I used pipsqueak yarn that's a pale pink.
