Hello, I am having an issue using the punch card - I'm sure it is operator error, but can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Followed the directions in the manual, but after running the carriage across one time to select the needles, when I try to knit the pattern, my sinker plate runs in to the needles. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Remove the sinker plate and replace. Make sure it is seated into the little indentations (it will sort of click).

Also, check and make sure your sponge bar is in good condition for pattern knitting.

Thank you for your responses, the machine has a new sponge bar, so I took the sinker plate off another one of my machines, and it worked beautifully! I believe the original sinker plate has a bend in it, preventing it from going under the needles and instead running into them!

They can be pressed back into alignment. I have done that before.

Just push your carriage until just before the first needle, then you'll see the leading edge in out of alignment. Hope that helps.
