Please can any of you very knowledgeable Ladies tell me what and where I can purchase extendable needles. I purchased a lovely shawl pattern from Maybebaby after seeing a picture of some beautiful shawls on here and on reading it it calls for extendable needles.

Yes, Knitpicks Options interchangeable needles can be extended. They sell a small cylinder that is threaded on both ends....two cables can be screwed into the cylinder for an extended length.
Here is the link to the set of interchangeables

And here is the link for the cable connectors.

I love my Knitpicks Harmony interchangeables!

If you decide to place an order, and if you are the type that has several projects in the making at one time, then you might want to order some extra cables too..

I am thinking about buying these needles and noticed that they have a starter set with three kinds of needles bamboo, metal and plastic. Did you try that before you selected the wood? This set looks very nice.

No, I did not try the starter set before making my purchase.....I had read so many rave reviews about the wooden set that I went ahead and ordered them.
I do use the addi turbo lace point fixed circulars for the smaller
sizes.....1, 2 & 3. I think the wooden needles in those tiny sizes tend to be on the fragile side.
You have probably read posts here on KP by other Harmony Option users...they are truly wonderful needles and are a joy to use.

Go ahead....do it.....you won't be sorry!

I loooove my Harmony needles. Interchangeable and straights. I do not like the acylic ones that I purchased. The yarn doesn't slip as easily. Use is not helping either. I will keep them just so I have an extra set for sizes that I may need. I also like the silver ones too. They are really nice and slick and don't make a clicking sound either when you are working. Enjoy the process.
