Here are some of the rianbow babies I made for the Christmas Child appeal. To save time I knitted their little bags in variegated yarn.. The pattern is a free Jean Greenhowe one. The other picture is of the mermaids from one of Jean's books for my stall.

No I actually use the side of a lipliner pencil it works better than a red coloured pencil.

They are all so cute love your idea for the bags, I have used all the colors she suggest but so many ends to sew in.
