Don't fret about it--whether a myth or not, interesting. Also, I do not read KP everyday either--and often I will post something that has already been posted. I say to those who find this irritating, just don't read it again. Look at all the posts on the death of 94-year-old Mr. Bush!!!! There is always someone in every group who feel they have to say the "last word"!!!!

I agree. It was a lovely old song about a silly man who sent all of those gifts to his true love. What a lovely, joyful thought, but now it's been ruined, quite arrogantly, by some who want to change English history. It's really taken the fun out of it for me. Still, there are lots of other songs to sing. Perhaps we Brits should change the meaning of an American song, or change a bit of American history.
