It really doesn't matter to me. My swap buddy chooses things that apply to the subject of the swap and what I list on my sheet and what she/he thinks I would enjoy. Maybe they don't have the type of budget to allow them to purchase one or two finer things and can only do the less expensive items. Im sure that it brings them joy to pick them out (like it does me)for the swap buddy and I guess to me thats a big part of why I participate in the swaps. Yes, I enjoy getting as much as anyone else, but I love putting things together to give to other people.

I guess what I mean is, given a $10.00 limit, would you prefer 5 $2.00 items or one $10.00 item.

I agree with what you said 100% with the fun of putting together what you think the other person would like and some people not being able to send expensive items...

I just wanted to do a poll

Swap buddies do,for the most part, try to stay within the budget that the coordinators suggest. The problem is that there is such a disparity in what $10 or $20 can buy depending upon what part of the country you live in.

I feel, it is up to the swap buddy to add what they feel to add.
You could add on your swap information, prefer whatever yarn.

I have enjoyed the swaps I have sent and received. I have knitted with many different yarns through these swaps and I do them for the fun of it.

Happy Swapping!

People give what they can afford. Like others have said half fun is putting a package together and most of all making new friends on KP.
Love everything people send . I for one am having a good time. Hope other KP members feel the same.

 I too love everything I have received. It is also fun to shop for someone else. I like when I am making something for one of my kp friends and a family member or friend sees it and says I want one too.

I love participating and coordinating the swaps. I think we don't always, or at least I don't see a $ amt that is suggested for the swap, so it leaves alot to the imagination and your budget. Depending on my buddy's profile, I will look thru my stash of not only yarn but other things I might pick up and put that in the pkg, sometimes I do go out and get the type of yarn or needles that the person really likes. I very much try to keep to the theme, thats why I chose that swap. so I quess I am a 50/50, sometimes purchase and go over limit and then sometimes I can stay pretty well withing the budget, ITS the SHIPPING THAT gets me!

I think it is just a wonderful thing to be able to share with each other as each is able to share, I love the fact that we do this and that we give as we are able. Christ speaks of a woman who put in her last coin to the offering, but it was more precious than all the gold and silver that anyone else had to offer, because it was all she had to give. How precious is that!!!A note with just a little love in it is a great swap and sometimes is just what is needed at that moment if that is all you are able to send. Then your swap partner at least knows that they were not forgotten.

I would just appreciate an acknowledgement that my swap package arrived. I guess I could use the tracking number to see if it got there but I guess I will just assume it did and my package was not appreciated or perhaps, delivered.
