I've searched and searched for a rowing team motif to make a hat for my nephew who is on the high school crew (rowing) team. Can anyone help me?

Have you Googled for it? It's my only suggestion unless you are able to make a chart from a graphic. I would Google for a rowing cartoon or rowing graphic if you think you can. You could also check college athletic sites that may give you ideas that would help you to create one.

Thanks so much for your reply. That's a great idea. I searched only for knitting patterns with rowing. I will try your suggestions. I'm not a very advanced knitter but maybe I can find something simple.

I hope you find something you can use, it's a toughie.
If you find the right motif and cannot knit it, you can use duplicate stitch to add it after the sweater is finished. It will look just like its been knitted in.

do you mean I would embroider the colors over the stitches by duplicate stitch?
