I just finished a winter hat for my son, but haven't seamed it up yet. It's been such a long time since I have done that, I'm not sure how to go about it, so it looks professional. When I do this, should I just take one loop from each side, or go through two loops on each side?

hi trammyjane here from u.k. i just do the 1to 1 but remember if u made a turn up rib u will have to change to the other side to sew up last 1 1/2 if it to have a turn up so ur seam on the back

I know for sure that you are a sweetheart because you are from the U.K. My absolute best friend in the whole world is from Scotland like you but spent most of her life in London. She has lived in Florida for the past seven years now. Guess I will give the hat the 'sew' job tomorrow.

thanks for the reply name is jane trammyjane was my name as i was a tram driver for many years b4 the joy of retirement.
now i knit 24/7 and wonder how i ever had time to go to work b4 (ahahah) now i knit a doll size of the pattern to try it and then have lovely gifts for xmas when all are finished often supply charities with finished dressed doll for a donation to raise funds hope u continue now u got the bug for bigger and better things ehehh hope u do not mind but have put u in my buddy list so i can send u personal messages if u want answers that i can supply for u

Of course I don't mind that you put me on your buddy list !! You can write me anytime. I do love knitting as you do, but don't do a lot of very complicated things. They have to be simple for me as I'm not an expert. I do know my son will love the hat and scarf I am making as he lives in New York City, and it gets COLD COLD COLD there. Went to visit him in early December and thought I was going to freeze to death !!! HMMMM
Maybe I need to make myself a hat and scarf to wear if I go to see him in the winter again !!!
