I'm looking for a pattern for a shaw that is pointed in the back and has two sides in front.

(((((((( Hand Knitted? Machine knitted? Loom work? Crocheted?

I'd surf for TRIANGLE shaw patterns if I were you and pick the one you like.

A triangle is what I think you mean....... ?? Point in back....two sides (points) in front. Right? They can point without being a triangle, too - cape like but with a pointed back side.

Did you mean SHAWL, also versus shaw? If so, surf for prayer shawls. They come in all geometrical shapes....I think. LOL!

I've only done the crochet granny triangle shawl (works up so fast). I've knitted prayer shawls, too but they're more like reader's wraps (with large pockets for holding reading supplies).

Good luck!

******** When you see the triangle forming, make it to size. You didn't give me a size, so this one will triangulate out quite a ways - size it to be sure.

I made it with an oversized hook and lacy yarn versus WW. It was lacier, therefore. WW is not lacy enough but you choose.

Finish with a triple knot fringle. Surf for the how-tos.

If you want a shawl that has a point in the back, and straight ends in the front, you would probably want to knit a piece half the total length and then do "short rows" make the point in back. It would be like a scarf with a sharp turn in the middle creating a V shape. Look for short row on Youtube or try this. cast on 20 sts. Knit 10 rows, then make the V this way. Turning row 1: Knit 2 sts, turn,
2. knit to end. (2 sts)
3. knit 4 sts, turn
4. knit to end (4 sts)
continue this way until you have knit all 20 sts. then knit 10 rows.

You will see the angle of the back. Use the same idea for the length and width of the shawl you desire.
I would like to suggest that you try the Trinity Stitch Shawl. It's what you are looking for, is a beautiful stitch, easier to do than you think & knits up quickly. It's also easy to memorize the pattern as you are going along.
