I am going to presume you knitted in Stockinette stitch.
As you knitted along your row you would get to where you wanted to start binding off, bind off required amount and knit to end.
Purl back to where you finished binding off and cast on the same number of sts you bound off pull yarn tightly and purl across remaining sts. No yarn breaks and no panic. Keep smiling it's an art.
