Slow Cooker Chicken Wings with Homemade Barbecue Sauce ~ Serves 6

Scratch-made BBQ sauce gives these wings some serious personality.
Pineapple juice, soy, and molasses give the sauce a sweet-sour-savory flavor.
A much-needed departure from basic buffalo and other standard sauces.
Ingredients
2 pounds chicken wing sections
Sauce
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
2 teaspoons low sodium soy sauce
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
6 ounces frozen unsweetened pineapple juice concentrate
1 tablespoon molasses
Tabasco sauce
1/8 teaspoon liquid smoke
Directions
Place the chicken wings in the crock pot.
In a bowl, combine all the barbecue sauce ingredients and mix well.
Pour over the wings in the crock pot and stir gently to coat the wings in the sauce.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours or until the wings are cooked through.
If desired, you can broil the wings for a few minutes before adding to the crock pot to crisp up the skin.
