My daughter just made a sock monkey hat for a friend's 6 month old son. Now another friend has asked for a sock monkey scarf for her sister.

I think I have seen one out in cyber land but can't seem to find it now that I am looking for it.

Any help would be appreciated by both of us.

Thanks in advice.

This one is not free but would you could do is look at the freebies in say mittens or even toys and knit your scarf that way

Like the fingerless gloves for instance - just knit the long scarf piece between each of the gloves and stitch up the end if you want to:

I always search Ravelry or just Google when searching for patterns. Ravelry has the best knitting and crochet site you will ever find. A free account is needed.
I had already searched Pinterest, Ravelry, Google, my stash of patterns, etc before I posted on KP.

The monkeys were made from a pattern that was included in packages of men's work socks. The socks were brown and white tweeds with white (acutally off-white) ribbing at the top, white toes and red heels. As you can see from the post earlier, the red from the heel makes the monkey's mouth.

I made one of these years ago, then knit blue overalls and a red and white sweater for it, complete with a hole for his tail. It was fun. I actually came across the package of remaining socks and the pattern just recently when I was organizing my stash.
