A free pattern on the Lion Brand website, I was able to make two shawls with three skeins of the Barrington colored Homespun pictured. I found this yarn at a VNA Sale in NJ and think it is well suited to the pattern. I'm working my way up to the more complicated lace shawls and thought this was a good starter project. The nice part of this pattern is that once you've worked through the repeats several times, it sticks in your head and you can just pick up your work and go for it without watching a book. The shawl pin pictured is available from another hobbyist on E-bay for $8 and was thrilled when I received it. So well done.

I made 8 shawls last year using this pattern and sari yarn from Nepal. 6 sisters-in-law, my Mom's daytime companion, and my best friend from highschool (back when we used a sharp stick and wrote in the dirt) I love this pattern for its adaptability and the great way it looks. Yours is truly beautiful.

Hi, I started a reply but it disappeared from view before I'd signed off.
Great shawl - I reckon a few of our prayer shawl knitters would love to make it for our next collection to be sent to CHCH, for earthquake survivors.
Thanks for passing on the link.
Cheers
