So I took a certification exam (for current and future employment roles) last week and PASSED! So wonderful husband said that with the pandemic our usual celebration of a nice dinner out wasn't going to happen to get myself a prezzie.

I went to ICE yarns and I got this:
https://www.yarn-paradise.com/cashmere-viscose-lilac
and this:
https://www.yarn-paradise.com/summer-fine-saxe-blue
and this:
https://www.yarn-paradise.com/caress-baby-alpaca-light-grey

Placed the order on 11/29/2020 and it showed up on 12/03/2020.

I’ve never knit with viscose blends; are they slippery enough to require bamboo needles?

Great present and well deserved!

Well those dinners are usually something not normally made at home - like a prime rib dinner some place or a real nice sushi restaurant. I like good food as much as good yarn!

Congratulations on the passing of your exam. I think I prefer the yarn to dinner.

It depends on how confident you are with your knitting. If anything that makes me be just a tad more focused on what I'm doing so I don't screw it up. I have bamboo circulars, but my main needles are my ChiaoGoos - they're steel and I manage to do just fine with viscose blends, and it depends on what the viscose is blended with as well.

Well that cashmere is seriously fine so that has to be a shawl/wrap, maybe a real fancy sweater. The cotton that's going to be a summer weather top and the baby alpaca that's another sweater.

No particular patterns for anything - I'm stocking up on some yarn now so that when my work slows down I have stuff to work on and won't have to spend the cash when it's not convenient.

All so nice! I'm envious but I really don't need any more yarn right now.
What do you plan to make?
