I cannot see anything seriously wrong with it. Methinks you are perhaps a tad hypercritical of your own work. It is lovely and will be well worn by a proud recipient.

thank you and you are right i am a perfectionist when i make something...but i am learning with each new thing I do...next one is starting on needles now....should i put a little pom pom on the hat?

Very very lightly steam it a little, just holding the iron about 5 inches above and sort of straighten it if you are fussy about that sort of thing.

I think it is very well made and that you did a good job of it but I would like you to be happy with it as well.

Keep going gal. What you did is good and what you are going to do will be better still. I remember my first baby sweater.After knitting tons(I've totally lost count)I now make very decent sweaters and add color and different stitches picot edges etc. You have a wonderful start and it looks good.
