I do the same thing if working on dbl pointed needles as i loose my marker if I don't.I know it goes against the grain, but I never stop at the point where I’ve completed a row or round. So many times I wasn’t sure if I had clicked that row counter before putting a project away. (My mind had already moved on so I’d always have to double check when I picked the project up again.) So I always knit a couple stitches in that next row so there’s no doubt which row I’m on. Works for me.
I do the same! And whether I am using Knit Companion, a paper pattern, etc. I mark off that last row, but have enough stitches on the next row to be able to read my knitting and confirm my spot! And it also keeps my stitch marker in place when I am knitting in the round.I know it goes against the grain, but I never stop at the point where I’ve completed a row or round. I have been having this exact issue with the sleeves of the sweater I am working on, with dpns. I want to make sure it matches the first sleeve I made too. I also feel like by stopping not at the end of a dpn needle I am less likely to lose one of the DPNsI know it goes against the grain, but I never stop at the point where I’ve completed a row or round.
