Welcome Jenny.
I come here when I am sad...cheers me up in no time.
I come here when I am lonely...the loneliness doesn't last very long.
I come here to give me some me time...after a while I am relaxed.
I come here to learn...one never stops learning.
I come here to teach (where I can)...remembering that I was a newbie once.
I come here for good conversation...boy can we have fun at times!

I come here for many reasons (this is just a few).
I start my day here and I end my day here.
Oh such a wonderful place this is indeed.
I agree 1000%. My day starts and ends here.
Plus I have met so many wonderful, talented people here.

Hello Jenny and welcome from Upstate New York (USA). So glad you signed on with us. This forum is definitely global - and I love it. I never dreamed that one day I'd be talking to others all around the world. Welcome and talk to you later.
:)
Happy Knitting too.
Thank you Journey7!

Hi Jenny, a warm Canadian welcolm from Ontario, Canada. As you are finding out quite quickly, there are friendly, caring, knowledgeable, talented KPers on this forum. I recently joined and this "old dog" is learning new tricks.
I start and end my day with KP. It's great to be able to share with like-minded people who appreciate the work and love we put into our craft. So glad you decided to join!
Yes, swyn, am amazed at all the knowledge etc. and wisdom!

Hi and welcome from Kansas USA. We travelled to Australia and New Zealand about 4 yrs ago. Love getting on KP and finding so many friends from ALL OVER the world. The world has indeed become a smaller, more friendly place!
BTW - I loved that trip and all you people down under. All of them were so much fun to kid around with!

Hi, Some newcomers say "I'm new here goodbye" We here are so interested in newcomers, we love to hear a bit more about you. Why are you scared to say where you are, tell us a bit about yourself? We do not have your last name, nor do we have your email or phone number, so you are quite safe to let your hair down. There are people on this site whose only voice is here. We love you and listen to your joys and sorrows and can empathize with you. Most of us are immigrants (maybe hundreds of years ago) and love to hear where you are and where you've been. I was born in B'ham, UK, emigrated to Canada in 1956, married a man from Golder's Green, London who joined the RCAF so have lived in nearly every Province in Canada, have lived in Baden-Baden and Weisbaden, Germany, have lived in the Cynon Valley, S.Wales. Am now in Exeter, Ontario. In my life I have moved 58 times. I am now married to another Brit from Lambeth, UK and am 73 and trying to stay in one spot, but I pine for England, Especially Glastonbury, Somerset. Love and hugs to you my new friends. Ann

Hi to you too Ann and thank you for your welcome and invitation. I think most people who join something new stand back a little at first, to see how things are going, and make sure they don't feel an interloper and jump on anyone's toes! But as we all get a little more comfortable and familiar with you, we become braver! I've already met a member who knows the area I live and who visits up this way so we are going to meet next year when she is here for coffee. That is amazing to me. My goodness you've been a bouncing ball through your life. I know how it is being married to someone in the Forces. My husband was a British army officer and I lived in Hong Kong where my first baby was born, then England, but then he took early retirement and we went to Fiji where I was born - English mother, Aussie father, and my 2nd baby was born, then to NZ (when the Fiji govt decided John couldn't stay there just as my baby was about to be born we had no country to live in) so went to NZ where my little boy was born. After 5 years in a beautiful but very cold-for-me country, we moved to Australia and have been here ever since, except that John died 20 years ago of cancer - he died 12 weeks after we found out he had it. My soul mate, best friend, light of my life ...the happiest man you could ever know. So, Ann-other-knitter, that is a bit more information! I agree with you about being interested in others and what they do. I find it difficult not having a photo to identify the real person with, but, identifying with 'the word' only, let's you get to know someone's real self. I am very interested in everyone too!

Hi Grannybaba, Great to hear all your life experiences. Wow, you travelled some. All my boys were born in Canada. Sorry you lost the love of your life so soon. Yes, this is a wonderful site. So many friends. I am taking nearly all day to get through the letters. I hardly get a couple of rows knitted. Ann

Yes, Ann - I am finding that too...now that I have KP, I am away from my knitting lol. But what I am learning makes up for it tenfold, because my knitting knowledge is taking a huge uward swing!!
I can imagine how you miss England, it must be so different to where you are living now.
Well off to finish my jumper..am very excited to see the finished result. Bye for now, Ann.

Thank you busy bee aussie! Good to meet you. I do love children and was a lower primary teacher until I retired. But I do feel I was put into this world to work with children and have always done that! Now it's the gc's I have to connect with and what a wonderful blessing that is! So you have 4 gd's as well! I wonder if they all live close? My 2nd daughter is up near Gladstone, up your way, with 2 gd's.
Will look out for you around the forum!
Jenny
