Great idea. I love animals. Thanks for the poems. They are helping my heart heal. I had to say goodbye to my beloved little Sam in August last year on his 15th birthday. Very hard as we'd been together since he was almost one. Have wonderful memories of our life together and am blessed to have had him in my life. Thinking about my little boy, affectionately known as the "bag boy" still makes me laugh and smile. Set a bag on the floor and Sam was there immediately to inspect the contents and would wake out of a deep sleep whenever he heard a bag rattle softly. On the flip side I also have an 8yr. lab/shepherd mix, 80 plus pounds, who thinks he's a lap dog. He of course is spoiled rotten too. His name is Rocky. When Rocky first met Sam he kept tapping Sam (about a 40 pound dog) on the shoulder because he wanted Sam to play with him. Sam didn't like the tapping and promptly "rolled" Rocky across the width of the big back yard we had and he landed in the flower bed and Sam walked back to the house with a big grin on his face! LOL!!
Sam was the tough one and Rocky is the wimp. You could run the vacuum cleaner right up next to Sam and he wouldn't move while Rocky is gone at the first sight of it or the mention of the name Matilda (what we named the vacuum)!! LOL!!! They both in their own ways have enriched my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.
