I have done the Hurdle Stitch … I think it is the same except for one fewer knot row and one fewer Purl row. Hurdle is officially an4 row pattern. But I have done it with even more stockinette rows in between.
the Willow Dishcloth uses Hurdle at the beginning and end sections with seed stitch in the middle.
Hurdle Stitch is:
Rows 1&2 - Knit
Rows 3&4 - (K1, P1) repeat
(Has a completely different look than the Roman Stitch)

The Roman Stitch being discussed is:

Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: Knit
Row 4: Purl
Row 5: (K1, P1) repeat
Row 6: (P1, K1) repeat

(Just discovered, this forum does NOT accept the repeat star symbol (start and finish mark).
Bah hum bug.
