Theme sweaters

Before I learned to knit I had seen sweaters that had pictures on them. They came in kits from a company that sold them in the back classified sections of craft and needlework magazines in the '80s. The sweaters could have a holiday scene with snowmen and raindeer, etc. or even a school theme with kids and a schoolbus on a road.Does anyone remember the name of the company that made these?

Are you on Facebook? There is a Facebook page dedicated to vintage Knit O Graf patterns.

I love social media; i.e. facebook, instagram, twitter, etc. too many to list - it's so much more than just goofy selfies and pictures of what food people are eating. It's a wonderful way to keep up with what is going on in the world as well as a great resource to find just about anything you want. If it exists in the world, social media can help you find it.

Etsy also has some resources for Knit-O-Graf patterns:

as well as eBay and Vintage Knits:

Thank you everyone for all your responses and time. I do know about intarsia, have done it a time or two. The Sweaterscapes sweaters are like the ones I saw in the '80s. I even have 2 of their books. I also found sweaters called Storybook knits that are like and could possibly be the ones I am thinking of. I found out that sweaters like these have a following, there are "Ugly Sweater Parties". The sweater can be very elaborate in the design, too much for todays' styles. I am glad to have all these great links from everyone. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!
Can't wait to see what you come up with for your "ugly sweater" !!! Be sure to post pictures!!
