Does anyone know of or have a pattern for a knitted hat where the top gets smaller but longer enough to wear as a scarf? When I was growing up a lady in my neighborhood made them for her kids and was thinking that would be a great hat to knit!
Thanks

Your post brought back good memories for me.
When I was six years old my grandmother taught me to knit. After learning knit and purl I saw a pattern called a stocking cap and wanted to make it in the worst way. We picked out the yarn (navy and white) but the needles were a different story. No such thing as circular needles then. She helped me to master dpns. I loved that hat and wore it for quite a while. When I hear people cringe at the thought of dpns, I just laugh.
