Tortilla Chips ~ Homemade ~ Serves 6
Ready in under 30 minutes
Baked tortilla chips are a fun experiment and a healthier alternative to the store-bought fried variety.
Whether going for a basic chips-and-salsa setup or a serious nacho platter, homemade is always a good look.
Ingredients
10 flour tortillas (8" size)
1 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
seasonings such as crushed red pepper flakes, chili powder, crushed dried herbs
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Combine the olive oil, salt, and seasonings in a wide, shallow bowl. Mix well.
Dip each tortilla in the oil mixture, turning to coat completely, then letting excess oil drip off.
Place the tortillas into stacks and cut them into wedges with a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
Place the cut tortillas on a baking sheet in an even layer.
Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 400 degrees F until crisp and browned, about 10 minutes, turning once during the baking time.
