I have picked up today from a charity shop a Toyota KS 787 knitting machine. One big problem, no accessory pack (Handle and tools). Does anyone know if this could be purchased separately? I have trawled the net but no luck, may have to take it back.

You should be able to use any regular transfer tools for the gauge of machine you have. I have some old Toyota manuals and lots of standard gauge tools.

Are you refering to racking handle or carriage? The gauge of this machine is 4.5mm, so you can use tools from other models that are the same gauge ( Brother, Singer etc).

Actually I do have a Toyota handle, forget the model I had as it didn't work and didn't have it long. It is orange on the outside and white or cream on the underside. If you don't find it anywhere else, just measure from one stud to the other and let me know how you measured it and what the measurement is. The lady that had bought that machine from me guess didn't need it or maybe I had a spare one from that machine. I even have some needles. If memory serves me right, I had the 747. And I believe I have some of the standard transfer tools that would work for you as well. PM me if interested.

The Toyota 787 has a wider gauge than standard machines so standard tools will not fit. Have you tried Heathercraft or metropolitan?

You can use tools from other machines as long as they were made for the 4.5mm machines. THat machine is a really great machine. You can look on eBay and go to the seller Leannco. He is in the U.S> and you can get it fast. His prices are great. HK Knits which is from CHina also has the tool, it just takes a little longer to get them.

you might want to check with the toyota knitting group i find them very helpful

According to http://www.yarn-store.com/knitting-machine-chart.html, the 747 and 787 are 4.5mm machines so any standard tools will fit it.

Today my husband and I put together a 901 and ribber that were new. What a beautiful machine and it does so much.
DOn't return it as you will regret it. It is a great machine.
