Hi fellow Tennessean - Born in Knoxville but now I live in AZ. What is the name of this pattern? Is it online? I've seen pix of squares but didn't know they were knit on a circular needle. Fascinating and beautiful!

Look for MITERED patterns.
Each square is worked as a unit, then you pick up stitches to join to make next squared. Half squares fill in to made even sides.
I tried to work a different pattern into each square for variety.
Did you see the designer's name and address in a previous post I made?

pfflyer: that's a fantastic jacket. Apparently lots of people have been looking for it, at least they were in 2006 & 2007 and mostly without success. Hopefully email address hasn't changed and she can be reached. Too bad the pattern isn't made available again.

Very lovely! I'm a big fan of vests and I make them often. Thank you so much for giving credit to the designer. We seem to forget that the designers who "engineer" patterns for us need the credit (not to mention the income). I will sure look for this pattern as I love vests.

I live in Colorado..where in the course of a day the temps can and do vary by 40 degrees...layering is the way to go!

Lovely work by the way!

OH WOW!! Good for you! Did you use sock yarn or noro or what? I haven't been brave enough to try one of these yet.
I did use Noro , not the sox weight however. Worsted I think. DARN, why don't I save the labels?
The color combinations are so lush. Hard to pick what you like best.

Years ago..and I mean MANY years ago, If you mailed in your yarn labels you got free yarn..it's a hard habit to break. Now I include a label from the yarn on any gift that I knit..so that the recipient knows how to care for the item. I keep a label and log it into my "knitting diary"..so I remember what I made and what I made it from!
