Very lovely! I'm a big fan of vests and I make them often. Thank you so much for giving credit to the designer. We seem to forget that the designers who "engineer" patterns for us need the credit (not to mention the income). I will sure look for this pattern as I love vests.

I live in Colorado..where in the course of a day the temps can and do vary by 40 degrees...layering is the way to go!

Lovely work by the way!

Years ago..and I mean MANY years ago, If you mailed in your yarn labels you got free yarn..it's a hard habit to break. Now I include a label from the yarn on any gift that I knit..so that the recipient knows how to care for the item. I keep a label and log it into my "knitting diary"..so I remember what I made and what I made it from!

Yes I do include a yarn label with gifts, and I tape a yarn label in my knitting journal with a photo of the finished item along with any "notes". As for the free yarn for labels...no one seems to offer it anymore but old habits die hard. When my sister passed away her husband gave me her yarn and one of her knitting bags..the bag was stuffed with yarn labels!

I think you have to be a "certain" age to appreciate vests! They are a lovely addition to any closet...and serve so many purposes...warmth...hide figure flaws, etc.

I work outside, year round and am fortunate enough that my employer provides me with clothing...I take advantage of this and the layering. This winter we have had more cold weather than usual. I'm able to don my long sleeved polo shirt...over a turtleneck...pull a sweater over those...add a vest...a zippered sweatshirt and a fly jacket. I wear flannel lined uniform pants...and wear my "wild" hand knitted socks underneath my boots!

Everyone I work with knows I love to knit and on the coldest days they ask me to show them my socks! A fellow I work with is begging me to make him "sparkle" socks...there is company that actually uses a strand of sterling silver in their sock yarn..and this guy wants a pair...in black/silver to wear with his uniform shots! I'm making him a pair...because I want to hear the comments his customers make..the fellow is well over 7' tall. A lovely man, who I expect is going to ask me to teach him to knit!

Mary, I know. I told this fellows girlfriend that extra yarn would be required. I just can't wait to see this man in "sparkle socks"..he's about the nicest man I've ever met in my life...he's the tallest person at work..and I am the shortest...somehow we always end up standing next to each other! aT Christmas, friends of his from Baltimore sent him chocolate covered fortune cookies..he poured a ton of them into my equipment box. I stood there and said "what the heck" and he said "it's good for ya Lil, Chocolate makes you grow"...I laughed myself silly! I can't wait for the yarn to arrive and knit him socks!
