Mary, I know. I told this fellows girlfriend that extra yarn would be required. I just can't wait to see this man in "sparkle socks"..he's about the nicest man I've ever met in my life...he's the tallest person at work..and I am the shortest...somehow we always end up standing next to each other! aT Christmas, friends of his from Baltimore sent him chocolate covered fortune cookies..he poured a ton of them into my equipment box. I stood there and said "what the heck" and he said "it's good for ya Lil, Chocolate makes you grow"...I laughed myself silly! I can't wait for the yarn to arrive and knit him socks!

Still made by different company, different styles.
"They run faster, Jump higher" was their slogan.

Hate to tell you but that is NOT the pattern I used for vest!
Yours is for a sweater, not a vest.
My vest has MANY blocks in it.....will resend photo.
Same technique but different results!
I just got the pattern from Dixie - the one she sent me was labeled "Eyelet Mitered Vest" and appears to be the same vest as yours, only done in a solid color so you have to look carefully to see that the arrangement of the squares is the same.

I also have no idea how to provide the pattern here, but if you contact Dixie at [email protected] she seems more than happy to provide the pattern in a professional looking pdf format.

ntaglass,
I didn't know how to do the pattern she sent me, either, even though it was the wrong pattern. I had sent a post and then on the bottom of it there was a tab that said "attac another attachment" or something like that. I simply clicked on it and entered the place on my computer where I had stored the pattern and hit send and there it was.

How pretty! And such nice work, too. I have trouble with anything like that. I either knit too loose or too tight and the squares never turn out the same size!

Drat! I was so-o excited! I just knew I'd found the pattern for y'all. I didn't really care about finding it for me, cause I'd probably never do it. I'm working on a baby sweater for my great niece now and have been at it for almost a week and a half. My daughter says Mom the reason it takes you so long to get any thing done is because you're at the computer either looking at knit and crochet patterns, or trying to find a pattern!" And I guess she's right. Well, any way I'm glad you got the pattern. I hope ntaglass get's it posted for you. Cheer-io!

WOOOPS! Since I was unaware of this, I've sent wrong patterns to requests! I'll correct my response. Glad you all like the vest. A scarf is fun with this technique, too. Especially with those busy yarns we love to stash.
