I am so glad you shared your pattern with us. My only question is in the amount of yarn. The pattern calls for 8-50 oz balls of worsted weight yarn. That seems like a lot of yarn to me for a vest. Please confirm that the quanity is correct or if it is a typo and what the correct amount is.
I too would like a confirmation on the amount. Could this mean 50 grams of worsted weight yarn which would be about 4 skeins of Red Heart of something like that?
Mary who would like to know.

TYPO
My pattern says 50 oz...I checked the weight of Noro Kuyeron (which is what I used) and balls are 50 GRAMS, not oz.
I used 10 balls for reach of my vests.....making 5 1/2" sq.for size.
I knit VERY loosely...my notes say I used #5 needles.

I made 100 small squares but got tired of sewing them up so made 3 in one piece and joined the 4th to make a square. Done on an ODD number of stitches.

Next lot was done on an EVEN number of stitches, 2 decreases in the middle of the row, so it is easy to put a marker, if needed. "Knit to 2 stitches before middle, knit 2 together, slip 1, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over; knit to end"
Work back but (if in garter stitch) Purl the 2 centre stitches to make a good showing.

To be sure of which side is 'right side', keep a long length at the cast-on edge row and remember that this shows the BEGINNING of the row in which to do the decrease

If I knew how to add a photograph, I would - but I am far more advanced in knitting than computing

grosvenor--easy to add a photo.

hit the reply button at the bottom of a comment. you get a window with 3 little address type bars below the text box. on the right side of the address bar is are buttons that say
BROWSE. hit the browse button and your computor file tree shows up. locate where you have stored your photos and click on it. click on the photo file and 'open' it. the file should show up in the little address bar below the comment box in this discussion. hit send and your are done.

do not preview your comment or it will erase the photo and you will have to do this all over again.

Well, guess what ladies?! I got the pattern from Dixie Berryman for the mitered vest that pfflyer did!! She calls it sock yarn sweater but it's labeled mitered block sweater. I think someone is going to have to tell me how to get it on here, though. I don't think I'm supposed to add a pattern the way I do a picture?? The pattern is a pdf file and it's on my computer. Can anyone help me? I'm anxious to share this with all of you!

The vests are truly beautiful. I think the safest way to share without infringing on ropy rights is by sending through e-mail for personal use only. Having said that, would you be kind enough to make me a lucky recipient at: [email protected]

Lovely vests, would love to make one for myself. I have some wonderful "Amazing" yarn that would work perfectly for this pattern. Would you share that pattern? I will type in mitered sweater pattern and see what comes up. I truly love the vests good job.

I'm attaching the vest pattern.
Thank you very much for both the vest and the sweater patterns! I'm a mitered square addict.
