Yes, but look at him! His feathers have been pulled out, and that is very painful to a bird. I't's worse than having your hair pulled out. That's why I said it was sad.

Yes, chickens do have apecking order, but Roosters don't! A Rooster will keep order amongst his flock, and if hens are kept without a Rooster, you get a hierarchy with top and bottom hen, and the one at the bottom can be picked on.

The only hens I've seen that look like this come from battery farms, and as Roosters aren't from battery farms, it makes you wonder how on earth the poor thing landed up looking like this!!
