I have sock yarn and would like to make the wingspan shawl. Problem, I have 2 skeins equaling a total of 460yds. The wingspan
Calla for 400 meters which is a tad over 470 yds. In your experience have you found the required shawl yardage to be accurate?
Thanks for expert advise.

I would be afraid of running out of yarn. Can you alter your pattern to use less yarn, or use a different pattern?

I'm almost done with my wingspan and I'm having a bunch of yarn left. I used zuberball crazy, which is 259 yards, and could probably add another triangle, were I so inclined. It calls for 400 meteres, which is 437.445319 yards. You'll have plenty.

I went up a needle size on my Wingspan then needed just a few yards of additional yarn. I don't remember the yardage, but it was a ball of Crazy Zauberball. I probably wouldn't buy an extra skein, but I'd check to be sure I could get it if needed.

Thanks. This looks like such a fun shawl/scarf to make. Our school colors are purple and gold. The principal bought us gray tee-shirts to wear every Monday. Gray is NOT my color! Thought maybe I could dress it up a bit. Appreciate your advise. Going to start today.

Have you seen Starbella Stripes yarn. It comes in many "Team Colors" and would be easy to knit up quickly.

I'm making one in black and gold as we go to the Univ. of Iowa games. They have Purple and gold also.

I got mine at a LYS in Hayward, WI a few weeks ago on vacation. It was only $6.99.
Thanks. Had not thought of that and it would be a quick knit. I'll look into it.

Thanks for the ideas. I will make the wingspan but I found purple ruffle yarn at JoAnn's that I can get done tonight to wear tomorrow. That for all the suggestions and help with math. Could not find my dye lot to match so good to know 2 skeins will work. Thanks again.
