Could someone please explain how I would use a pattern which mentions yards when the stash I have has ounces on the label?

Sometimes I design the garments I knit and it's always kind of a gamble to know if I'll have enough yarn. Any ideas?

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks from me also. I have always worked with UK patterns that are in ozs etc. I love and have a lot of USA patterns and unsure also of the amount needed. Now I can do some, brill.

I usually look the yarn up on the Internet to find out how many yds there are in a ball or skein of yarn, when only ozs are on the yarn label. Yardage varies greatly depending up the type of yarn, and there are so many different ones.
