yarn for doll hair

I would like to know what is the best yarn to use for doll hair? One I can brush and won't be curly? Any ideas or suggestions?

The novelty stuff I hate to knit: eyelash 'yarn'.

I'm not familiar enough with wool's attributes to say, but I suspect it wouldn't last long under repeated combing. If the hair needs to be long, I'd shop on eBay for doll hair. If short, I'd still look at some of the eyelash yarns.
