Adapting pattern to desired yarn
Sorry, just read your question. I found this a while ago and it seems to work for me. "It is possible to adapt your pattern for the yarn you'd like to use, but in involves a bit of math. Take the original pattern numbers, say, CO 96 sts and divide it by the original gauge. Take that number, 24, and multiply it by your new gauge, 4.5; you'll end up with a CO number of 108 sts. Continue this way with all the numbers in the original pattern."
