We visited there some years ago. There was a fabulous fabric shop that also sold yarn/thread, more suitable for crochet, I thought. Go there, if you can. And eat flan.

For the wrinkles, try placing a wet cloth over the fabric then ironing over both with a hot dry iron.

I think one reason skin is so hard to represent in textiles is taht it is so muchmore than just color. It has luminosity, undertones, shadows, pores, tiny hairs, oily/dry patches, and so on and on. When I try to reduce all that complexity to a color, nothing looks right.
