Welcome from Texas! I'm 58, but because of chronic pain and 20+ years as a diabetic I feel much older. Anyway, great having you here.

As I'm trying to be more conscientious about our environment, I've made several reusable grocery bags. I used a J size crochet hook and made my handles thicker than the lady did on the YouTube video. They hold so many items, my husband was blown away!

Thanks for responding. I'll stick to blankets. I'm not an experienced knitter and I've read about it being hard to knit with. Thanks again!

On what to crochet with all the Lion Brand Homespun yarn I bought during their ten for ten sale. I have 10 skeins of three different colors.

I buy tuille at Joanne's. it makes the best scrubbies. Safe for non stick pots and pans.

If you are doing filet crochet, the spaces are open spaces where there is a chain ( or two) between the double crochets forming a mesh fabric. The x’s indicate double crochets in the mesh spaces to form a more solid design.

There should be more info in the pattern telling you how many chains between the DC’s, and how may DC’s to put in each x’d space.

It does tell me how many chains, etc. Thank you for responding. Have a great day!

I'm starting to doubt myself. When crocheting this, are the x's where I double crochet and the spaces are spaces or are the spaces what I double crochet and the x's spaces? I know so many of you will know what to do. I have made several attempts to contact the designer but no response. Thanks to all who respond.
