My best advice as to where to eat in a spot where you have no reference, is to ask at a knitting store. The people are usually friendly, have knowledge of small businesses locally and usually are pretty good at sizing up visitors.
It's worked for me.
They go to the Johnnycake Center ( a nearby thrift store) which uses its funds for local families in need or other charities that come to collect them. A lot of our supplies are used for the MN Library, Girl Scouts and various local endeavors for kids. This year a weaving project for kids is taking some of the yarn to the Denison Homestead.
I have visited various knitting groups in the community to see what charitable projects they are engaged in so I can direct suitable materials to them.
Thanks for asking.
I would love to help anyone who is interested in putting a Craft Swap together.
