Reminded me of my youngest who was 4 and is now 51.A few weeks before Christmas one could not Walk across her room for all the toys scattered about. I told her that one of the jobs of Santa’s elves was to look in children’s bedroom windows and check things out and I felt sure the elf would report that as Chrissy had so many toys and no place to keep them he might want to skip her this year. She said “I guess I had better clean my room”. 20 minutes later she told me she was finished .I looked and the room was spotless. I asked where her toys were and she proudly answered “I pushed them all under the bed!”
Found this absolutely hilarious. We tend to take ourselves too seriously and I think we would be happier if we were not so uptight. I will be 84 in 2weeks and the left “pocket”could be a tad longer and the right side left flat. “ C “ free for 21 years now ,thanks be to God. Also , my oldest daughter has never worn a bra she turned 60 last spring and always seems so comfortable. May you all enjoy a happy and blessed Christmas season.
How about 'Lassie Come Home' . My grandmother thought movies were the work of the devil, but my father pressured her into seeing it and she loved it and cried almost all the way through. Another is 'How Green Was My Valley' with Roddy McDowell.
I have had that happen and knit to first of the wrong sts , drop that st down to mistake and work back up with a crochet hook then repeat for each wrong st . I find it faster than re-knitting those rows .
I have been holding back on this one , but here goes.....My maternal grandfather had a saying for any medicine or salve...."It's good for coughs , colds , sore holes and pimples on your dink , and makes childbirth a pleasure !"
I finally found out what "cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey" meant . It is not nasty , a brass monkey was the square plate with turned up corners that held the cannon balls on a war ship . When extremely cold, the brass plate would shrink slightly and the balls would roll off !
when I was a teenager I expected my mother to know where everything was so I didn't waste my "precious" time looking , so if I asked 'where is such & such' she would answer "down the cellar behind the axe"
