Zauberball has lovely colors and I would use it again for scarves or shawls, but never again for socks because of the extreme pilling. My socks were pilling before they were off the needles! All the yarn you showed is gorgeous.
I am content with my life and at peace. It is good.
The baby cape you posted is the cape my first son wore home from hospital when he was born = 45 years ago!
I like Fabel and use a 00 needle, giving me a good gauge for my socks. I knit very loosely.
Why does what she does bother you so much?
I'm just finishing this as a gift for my DIL! Great minds!
Perhaps your sister would be willing to take over some of your other obligations while you work on this project for the very long time it will require. Maybe do your house cleaning and laundry - fill your freezer with meals - If she is willing for you to spend so much time on this, surely she would be glad to know what she can do for you. I have found that people ask quite easily and have no idea what their gift really entails.
I completely accept that I am "grinchly but I'm not so holiday oriented. Most of my family is in some sort of health care and so our days off may not come on the exact date of the holiday. And, like so many others, the commercialization of holidays bothers me. I craft because I like it - pressure to produce for folks who may or may not appreciate my efforts takes away from that enjoyment. And a gift on a non-holiday is a welcome surprise.
It's perfectly OK not to agree with me.
My husband died in 2010 and I have lived alone since then. It was not the plan, but I have grown to like it very much. I am very fortunate in that I have lovely support from my two sons. I live way out in the country with only one visible neighbor. I never feel uneasy - perhaps because my faith assures me that I am never truly alone.
my grandmother used to recite that to me nearly 70 years ago!
Respectfully, I disagree with you, Byrney. I feel that the more understanding one has of words, their uses and meanings, the better understanding one has of the story and the thoughts being conveyed in it.
I do think it is it a sign of a very limited vocabulary to use the word in question and "awesome" constantly. The English language offers rich choices if we only choose to use them. It is so boring to use the same words all the time for every occasion.
I wear my handknit mittens over stretch gloves to combat the cold.
