Could you please share the link to the video you spoke of this does look like a warm hat.
I dont kitchner mine together i hold with the two insides together ans i use a crochet hook and take one of the stitches on a needle and catch the stitch on the other needle and pull it thru the first with the hook and continue to the end and all stitches have been worked off the needles. I do not use a piece of yarn to do this i an just looping each stitch thru another. The join looks very nice as if it were sewn. When i am finished i am at the side when my uncut .yarn is fron my last knitted stitch i pick it up and then crochet the band together marking off every ten stitches so,i dont miss a stitch when i finish that i pick up stitches to knit the remaning hat. I hope this is understandable i dont have any pimages of the back join but here is a view of the band with the hat complete.
No i do not know. She had a yahoo group at one time i belonged to. I remember her talking about her grandaugther helping her with the ebook but nothing ever come to flurition. My friend that got a copy finally loves it but she is a hard core lefty and has problems with patterns but bless her heart she tries and so glad she has her copy. I have been knitting for a good eight years now and i made one pair of regular socks toe up basic with a flap and it just does not fit my foot right i wear them but i can tell a difference. My husband and i wear my hand made socks daily for all these years and we have yet to have a sock wear a hole in them anywhere. I know it is because the sock fits and does not move around on our feet they stay in place like a second skin. Yes i am sold. I hate buying patterns in a way cause i use such a small part of a pattern i do so for just the design BUT i do own a lot of design books and have created my own pattern design.
I am like you this is my go to method of making socks. They fit us and every other person i have made for fit superb once you work the math for each person. I only use other patterns for the designed pattern for the top and leg. The fit of the heel and toe is perfect. I try to use other heels and toes but i just cant bring myself to continue it does take work to make a sock and i want it to fit the best possible and i feel if it ain’t broke it don’t need fixin’. I know i have made well over 200 pairs over the years i have the method memorized. An E-book would have been nice but i am so thankful i have a hard book copy. My friend wanted on and we kept look8ng and found it on Amazon new she was very lucky. I have a lot of sock books but lke i said i just can bring myself to make their way i just use the design no matter if it was toe up or top down they work either way. I dont regret my purchase from Mary Ann
I have several of her bags but it is best to purchase on Black Friday you get a bigger discount on that day. Also, imam very happy with the bags i have never purchased any needle cases. Join her mailing list and you will be notified of any specials.
Does anyone else get a pop up box ad from Amazon when they open the Knitting Paradise site? Evey day when i open KP this box pops up from Amazon congradulating me that i have won when i close it out i get redirected to am Amazon gift site. When i click close to get rid of it i have to either reload the page or open a new link from my mail to open the KP site again and it all start so over again. This is so annoying that it is taking the enjoyment of coming to the group daily. I am just so curious if it is me or if others are getting this and if so if it is something administration can take a look at. I only use an Ipad for so i dont know if it does this on any other device. I should say this happened on my old pad as well so it has nothing to do with my settings.
I wish i had known about ChiaoGoo when i started buying needles cause i got a bunch of Knit Picks all kinds i want to sell as i will not use them the cables are one reason why due to curling. You wont be sorry with ChiaoGoo red lace or any of the interchangable.
A while back i was missing one and i just wrote them and asked formit they resent the letter with the code in it sorry i dont have those letter anymore but there was a spam between the last few i thought it was over with on block 24 but guess there is still another and last to come. Good luck.
I do as Stacy of Very Pink i weave in over a few stitches and then i split the yarn i weave in one half of the split under one stitch and tie three knots makeing sure i have enough stretch and give before the second and third knot cut close. I must say i tend to use this method on all yarn types but cotton i feel needs it the most.
I use Knit Pick Cotlin for all my cloths and towels and dishrags. I find that they do no ever smell that is saying a lot for a dishrag to not. I believe the linen is softer and has something with the not smelling as i do have a couple sugar and cream 100% cotton and they stink the next day. I am a poof gal myself but hubby always uses a rag and he never wrings it out tight and the cotlin does not smell even though it takes longer to dry. Worth a try you can get two cloths out of a skein. Hope it helps.
I have made several pair with this yarn and they are holding up great. I it has been well over six years or more and no signs of wear.
I would like to know the same thing have been looking at chart makers but have not found one that translate. I have come across a pattern where the symbols are not the common ones and i have been so confused till imhad to hand write out each row so i could knot the correct sttiches. I use my ipad a lot wonder if there is a favorite app used on it.
I use Knit Pick Cotlin for all my rags and towels kitchen and bath. I do not have a problem with stinky rags either unlike 100% cotton they sour overnight i find. The added linen makes then soft as well.
I have made a many of socks and of these two yarns mentied i prefer the Stroll best i have no complaint with it at all the Felici i find over tme it pills and i do belive they tend to shrink of multiple washs in the machine and dryer unlike the stroll. I know the never mentioned this brand but the Cascade Heritage yarns is another favorite right up there with the Stroll. These all wear good never have had a sock with a hole in it yet over a five year weekly wear socks.
If i had to do over i wish i would have started with the interchngable tips. I now own the 4" and the 5" sets plus all 40" numbers. If i had started with the interchanagle i am sure i would not have bought the 40's since i can make any length. I know its is an expense but well worth it and if you purchase from Handsome Fibers they have sales regular with holidays get on the mailing list to be notified.
